About

I created this blog because I’ve been figuring out how to share my art in a way that actually aligns with my values. For me, art has always been an authentic form of self-expression, regardless of the medium. Art is a language, at the essence of it. It should not function as currency, commodity, or serve as a status piece… Of course we find a way to taint the purest form of human expression.

I present this problem, a problem that (I think) most of us are aware of but collectively choose to neglect: People present themselves as who they’d like to be, rather than expressing who they actually are. That creates a disconnect between art, the audience, and the artist themselves, but for art to be consumed in its purest form, our masks have to come off. I must admit, the easier route is to hide behind buffer layers of labels and socially constructed identities, but for art’s sake, let us not. I envision a transparent line of communication between the art and the audience, as well as between the “artist” and the human being behind the work.

So that’s why this blog exists. I view it as a bridge between art, the audience, and the artist themselves. By pairing my photography with my writing and whatever else this blog turns into, I hope you all can see a real, human side of me. I hope this platform grows, and others can share their hearts on here as well. Above all else, I hope you all feel encouraged to express yourselves authentically and as you wish.
